Special Initiatives

Special initiatives are those that impact many areas of campus and provide support to a specific fund or project. Current special initiatives participating in Day of Giving are:

Live Mascot Program
Over the last decade, the Butler University Live Mascot Program has earned a reputation among our peers in higher education for being original and innovative. From industry awards to front page spreads, evening news features, and social media vitality, Butler Blue III "Trip" and his predecessors have worked hard to set Butler's Live Mascot Program apart from any other. All of this success has led to immeasurable notoriety to Butler and your support can help us do even more fun and exciting things to help advance the Butler name and mission.

The Butler Giving Circle

The Butler Giving Circle is a community of alumni donors dedicated to supporting two mission-critical elements of Butler University’s vision for the future: student scholarship and Indianapolis community partnerships. Read more on how your gift can connect you with Butler students and help them engage with causes they are passionate about. If you have additional questions please contact Taylor Whitaker at twhitaker@butler.edu and check out the Giving Circle FAQ

The Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability

The Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability (CUES) at Butler is dedicated to the science and practice of urban ecology and sustainability. We achieve this through student internships, campus sustainability, education and awareness initiatives, and community engagement. The CUES work is focused on five key areas: built environment, ecological systems, zero waste, social change, and food systems. We strive to create sustainability advocates on campus and beyond through the motto: research, educate, empower.
