Alumni Engagement

Alumni Communities

Alumni communities provide opportunities for graduates to stay involved with Butler, no matter where they live. Alumni communities are groups of alumni, supporters, and friends linked by a common experience such as a geographic area or special interest and serve as extensions of the Butler University Alumni Association. In addition to serving the Alumni Association’s mission, alumni communities work in partnership with the Office of Alumni Relations & Engagement staff to provide opportunities for Butler alumni, family, and friends to stay engaged in meaningful ways that benefit the overall mission of the University.

Alumni Communities with Day of Giving Challenges

LGBT Alumni Association

The Butler University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Alumni Association is designed to foster interaction between Butler University and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender alumni. In addition to supporting the Alumni Association's mission to promote and foster the interests and continued excellence of Butler University, the LGBT Alumni Association promotes and supports the LGBT Alumni Association Promotion of Diversity scholarship, and advises the University, when requested, on LGBT issues.

Young Alumni Board

Young alumni programming aims to assist recent graduates in Central Indiana in maintaining strong connections with their alma mater. Young alumni are defined as alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years.

The Young Alumni Board provides an opportunity for young alumni living in Central Indiana to connect with their fellow graduates, network for career opportunities, and serve both the community and Butler University. The Board consists of 24 recent graduates who have volunteered to serve three-year terms, meet four times a year as a group, and plan activities for Butler’s largest concentration of young alumni.
